Smooth Away Face Cream

Hello everyone!

Long time no see ๐Ÿ˜€

I have kept formulating all this time, but there wasn’t much new to write about since I tend to go back to the ingredients I know and loveโ€ฆ

However TODAY, ladies and gentlemen, I am posting THE FORMULA, the one I have been running after all these years!
I have
1) a new emulsifier, which I instantly fell in love with
2) a new procedure!
and clearly a 3) NEW cream sensation! ๐Ÿ˜€

Water in Cosmetic DIYs

Hello Everybody! ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I will briefly talk about the water we use in our DIYs and explain how to calculate its amount in our formulation (I have received many questions of explanation ๐Ÿ™‚ I thought it was clear but apparently it was not so).

Water

We already know that whenever we use water in our cosmetics, we need to add preservative because where there is water, there is lifeย and therefore bacteria of any sort might be enjoying the swimming poo.l ๐Ÿ˜€
It is actually NOT ONLY the case: for example there might be bacteria also in powder-form cosmeticsโ€ฆ but the rule that if we have water in our cosmetics we need to add some kind of preserving system is not changed (it’s simplyโ€ฆ “not only” ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).

However, does any kind of water work fine for our cosmetics?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Sulfur Mask – for acne and oily skin

Hello there! ๐Ÿ˜€

The recipe of today is for all of you people struggling with an acneic skin or very oily skin, it is, in fact,ย a recipe for a mask that will really help you control the oiliness and will help dry up the pimples much faster! ๐Ÿ™‚

Sulfur Mask DIY

I loved the idea of combining zinc oxideย (which has great soothing properties – but leaves the face quite “white” and therefore it is great in a mask that can be washed off)ย and sulfur (you already know that it is good against acne and oily skin! ๐Ÿ˜€ ). It could be a good idea to add some salicylic acid (0.5% should be enough) but since I was going to use this mask in spring/summer I preferred not to add any (acids are never a good combination with possible sun exposure).

Recognizing a natural soap from its INCI

Hello there! ๐Ÿ˜€

I have decided to start the new round of posts about recognizing cosmetics by their INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients)ย talking about SOAP.

NaturalSoap

It might seem a silly post but it is not at all! Many cosmetic brands sell soaps which are, in reality, not even real soaps ๐Ÿ˜€ so keep reading! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Babassu Body Cream – Recipe

Hello there! ๐Ÿ˜€

I did make the new face cream of which I was talking about in the last post but I will post that recipe a little later: I want to test it first and be able to give you the review as well.

[IF YOU ARE NEW here, you might want to check the theory of how to make “as close as professional” creams at home ๐Ÿ˜€ you can do it HERE at the site index! And don’t be scared thinking “I cannot do it”, “it is too complicated” because everything looks complicated before you learn it ๐Ÿ˜€ so grit your teeth for a while and enjoy later ๐Ÿ˜‰ On the same page there is also a link to my post where I show you where you can buy cosmetic ingredients online! ๐Ÿ˜€ ]

The recipe of today will be of a BODY CREAM, made with a new (to this blog) emulsifier! ๐Ÿ˜€
Usually in body creams there is not too much need for active ingredients (or this, however, is my opinion) because it is already good enough if we have the consistency of applying the cream everyday ๐Ÿ˜‰ however I choose to add in this cream precious fats like the Babassu oil and Shea Butter.

Are you ready for the recipe??? ๐Ÿ˜€
