    1. Hello.
I do not formulate medicines (I believe it is also illegal), so I cannot help.
All my recipes here are of cosmetic grade only.

About hyaluronic acid gel: my recipe is for a cosmetic of topic use only. It cannot really be used as a throat spray (and indeed the consistency wouldn’t allow it anyway).

  2. Hello,
I want to make a w/o lotion and I don’t know how? Can you help me ? There is a place in the posts about making o/w lotions where you say that you will wright about w/o theory but I didn’t find where the theory about w/o lotions is.
Thank you for all what you share on your site.
If you want to earn some money with your site I think you must find a way to add some advertisement.

    Thank you again.

    1. Hello Daniela! πŸ™‚
Oh well that wasn’t the meaning of my post: I don’t want to make any money with this website πŸ™‚ I just meant that, since it is not a job, it was sad that I felt like I was obliged at writing every week πŸ˜€ so I decided to take a break πŸ™‚
About your question πŸ™‚ Yes I should make a post about that!
However I made a lip balm which is “kinda” a w/o πŸ™‚ You find it here: https://itsallinmyhands.com/2013/12/02/winter-delight-lip-rescue-balm/
However this doesn’t leave you with a pleasant cream to use on your body! πŸ™‚
      Thank you πŸ™‚

    1. I don’t understand what you mean by “extract” πŸ™‚ do you mean oils or powder extracts or water based/alcohol based/oil based extracts? πŸ™‚

Anyway, for any ingredient you own, you should have received a data sheet from the reseller telling you what is the correct % of product you can add in a cream πŸ™‚
It also depends on the form of extracts (for example the powder ones are much more concentrated than the alcoholic ones… therefore they are usually at less than 0.5%, while alcoholic ones can be up to 5% usually – but it all depends also on the other ingredients of the recipe πŸ™‚ )

      Hope it was helpful πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Peggy πŸ™‚
I honestly never heard of “phytoceramide gel”.
I have used ceramides and I am sure they can be added to a gel or a serum (I added them in the rose, hyaluronic acid serum), but maybe you are talking about a specific ingredient… if this is the case, let me know more πŸ™‚

    1. I was never able to purchase this ingredient so I cannot help much: on the paper it sounds like a great ingredient so I would think about adding it too… BUT I have no idea if it is water or oil soluble, I don’t know at what concentration it is suggested to be used… I don’t know really much about this ingredient. I don’t even know if it interferes with the pH of the serum (I guess you were talking about the “Hyaluronic acid” serum πŸ™‚ )…
So if you already own this ingredient, make an experiment πŸ™‚ check the data sheet provided when you purchased and just remember that if it is oil-soluble you shouldn’t add more than 0.5% of it because it would not manage to keep suspended in the serum.
However, check the suggested % of use to be sure that you are not adding too much πŸ™‚
Let me know how it goes! πŸ™‚

  5. Hello,

What if you are using a single surfactant in your shampoo formula, an amphoteric surfactant Sodium Lauroamphoacetate . Would we still be required to add it in phase C rather than in the water phase in Phase A? Also, would xanthan gum be a good thickener to use with this surfactant, thank you!

    1. Hello Iyda.
I don’t suggest to ever make a detergent using just one surfactant! I have explained why in the post about calculating the surfactant matter.
Xanthan gum is “ok”. It is not the vest thickener but if that’s what you have it will work πŸ™‚
